Pricing and Quotes

Can I use the $65 offer with any service?

Yes, the $65 off your first service offer applies across our emergency plumbing work, from a burst pipe at 2am to a hot water system that's died on a weekend. There's no fine print carving out certain jobs. Mention it when you call and it comes off your invoice.

Do you give quotes over the phone?

We can give you a rough idea of what's involved when you call, but the firm number comes once we've actually looked at the job. Fair, upfront pricing means you get a written price before any work starts, not a phone estimate that changes on arrival.

How is fair, upfront pricing different from a standard quote?

A standard quote can still surprise you with add-ons once the job's underway. Ours doesn't. We inspect the job first, lay out plainly what's causing the problem, then settle on one number with you before a single tool comes out. What we agree is what you pay.

Is the quote free even if I don't go ahead?

Yes. We'll assess the problem and give you a fair, upfront price with no obligation to proceed. If you want to think it over or get a second opinion, that's entirely your call, and it costs you nothing either way.

Licensing and Responsibility

Do strata and body corporate properties need anything different?

Strata jobs still get the same licensed, insured plumber and the same fair, upfront pricing. The main difference is paperwork. We can provide the documentation a strata manager or committee needs for common-property repairs on request.

What does the Lifetime Labour Warranty cover?

It covers the labour on the work we've completed for you, for as long as you need it proven. If something about our workmanship isn't right, we return and sort it out at no charge. It's a standing guarantee, not a limited-time offer.

What NSW rules apply to gas fitting work?

NSW law says gas fitting must be done by a properly licensed gasfitter, no exceptions. It's not a job for a general handyman or an unlicensed helper. Our team holds the licensing to do gas work legally and safely, water and gas both.

Do I need a licensed plumber for emergency repairs?

Yes, for anything touching your water or gas supply, NSW law requires a licensed plumber. It also protects you, since unlicensed work can void insurance and create bigger problems later. We're licensed under #292427C, so every emergency repair is covered properly.

Response and Booking

What happens after I call?

Someone picks up straight away, talks through what you're dealing with, and gets a plumber moving. When we arrive we inspect the problem, tell you plainly what's caused it and the best way to fix it, then agree a price before starting. No guessing games at any step.

Do you handle multiple emergencies at once during storms?

Storms push a lot of calls through at once, and Ashfield's low-lying pockets near Heighway Avenue and the Brown Street and Bland Street junction are known flood-risk spots in council studies. We prioritise by severity, so active flooding and gas issues jump the queue.

Does the callback form actually work?

It does. Submit your details and we call you back fast, day or night, rather than leaving you refreshing an inbox. For anything urgent, though, calling direct is still quicker than waiting on a callback.

Do you work weekends and public holidays?

Yes, we're open 24 hours, every day of the year, including weekends and public holidays. A real person answers the phone whenever you ring, ready to talk through the problem straight away.

Ashfield Homes and Their Pipes

Does Ashfield's older housing affect how often hot water systems fail?

It does. Around 70% of Ashfield's dwellings are flats, many in older walk-up blocks running aged or shared hot water units that are well past their prime. We see far more no-hot-water callouts here than in newer housing stock.

Is Ashfield within your regular coverage area?

Yes, Ashfield is home turf for us, along with the neighbouring Inner West pockets. We're out this way on a regular basis, not sending a plumber across town for the first time when you call.

Why do older Ashfield homes get recurring drain blockages?

Ashfield's Victorian, Federation and interwar housing was laid with earthenware clay drainage, and after a century in the ground those joints crack. Roots from mature street and park trees find their way in, which is why the same line can block again months later.

How often should older Ashfield homes get their plumbing checked?

There's no fixed rule, but if your home dates to the Federation era or earlier, an occasional check is worth it given how common ageing clay drains and older gas fittings are here. If you're ever unsure, a call costs you nothing to find out.
